Your Old Town Mechanic, Close to Huntington
Huntington is the neighborhood around the Huntington Metro station, at the southern end of the Yellow Line, tucked between Cameron Run and Route 1 in Fairfax County. Lots of residents commute by train and keep a car for everything else, so many Huntington cars sit at home or in a garage while their owners are on the Metro.
Old Town Exxon is about two miles north at 501 S. Washington Street, on the corner of Wilkes Street. Get up Route 1 across the creek and you're in Old Town, with no Beltway required.

What Huntington Drivers Need Most
When the car is the backup to the Metro, a few things tend to go first.
- Battery Service
Days without driving drain a battery, and modern cars draw power even when they're off. A load test tells you whether it's the battery, the alternator or something staying on.
- AC & Heating
Weak A/C is easy to ignore until the first humid week of summer. We check refrigerant, look for leaks and test the blower and controls.
- Diagnostics & Electrical
A check engine light, a warning on the dash or an electrical glitch gets tested at the source rather than guessed at.
- Emissions Inspections
Fairfax County cars need emissions tests too, and a car that's been sitting is more likely to have unready monitors. We can tell you before you pay for a test.
Virginia Inspections for Huntington Drivers
Fairfax County is in the same Northern Virginia emissions program area as the City of Alexandria, so the rules are identical: an annual safety inspection, plus an emissions test every two years for most gas vehicles. We're an official Virginia DEQ Air Check emissions station and also do state safety inspections. Expect $20 for the safety inspection and $30 for emissions, and if you fail emissions, the retest here is free within 14 days.
